We opened our doors October 1, 1990.  The original owners were Barbara Clark and her daughter, Denise Bones and her husband Bill Bones.  The bakery was named after Clayton Earl Clark III, who was Denise's dad(Barbara's husband).  He passed away the year before the bakery opened.  Clayton was a police officer in tredyffrin township.  Barbara retired to Florida in 1997.  Bill and Denise remain as owners and very hands on opertors of Clay's.  We are very fortunate to have such an unbelievable staff that is comprised of full time employees as well as many local high schoolers.
